Susquehanna Valley Country Club Appoints Officers for 2011January 7, 2011SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Members of the Susquehanna Valley Country Club recently held their annual election to appoint new officers to the Board of Directors. The following members were elected to serve terms on the organization’s board for 2011: Mr. John Fry of Selinsgrove will serve as Entertainment Chairman. A member of the Club since 1993, Mr. Fry retired from Pennsylvania Power & Light (PP&L) in 2004. Mr. Art Bowen of Selinsgrove, who joined the Club in 1975, was re-elected to the position of Secretary. A principal in Bowen Agency Realtors for 41 years, Mr. Bowen will also serve as Membership Chairman. For the past three years, he has overseen the Entertainment Committee. Mr. Don Stanley of Selinsgrove was appointed to the Property Committee. A retired professor of music and Director of Bands at Mansfield University for 30 years, Mr. Stanley was also on staff at Susquehanna University as a part-time instructor until retiring in 2005. He joined the Club in 2001. The Board also re-elected Mr. Shawn Felty of Selinsgrove, President; Mr. Tom Gates of Selinsgrove, Vice President; Mr. Art Bowen, Secretary; and Mr. Scott Morton of Northumberland, Treasurer. Founded in 1919, the Susquehanna Valley Country Club recently celebrated its 90th anniversary and is one of the region’s oldest, most prestigious golf clubs. The Club is home to a U.S.G.A. 18-hole golf course, restaurant, banquet facility, meeting rooms, and swimming pool.
